Mission Letter 13 "Banished to Paradise"

Life on a mission change with just one phone call. . . TRANSFERS.
I prayed my whole mission to be feels out to the boonies, and of course, once I started praying to stay here in El Rio is when I got sent. I leave tomorrow morning for Wilcox, Arizona!
I am going to the people here in El Rio so much.
Tuesday we hardly got in with anyone and suffered our hardest rejection yet. We prayed hard for the night and the following morning that we would be guided to someone who was ready to listen.
Wednesday morning I texted Salma, a less active member, to see if we could come over at 6:00 . Not a minute later she replied that she was just about to teach her that night at 6:15 !
We went over and after sharing a short Christmas video. (The Master Healer) (The last time we were there). She said she had read it three times and felt like it used to her circumstances! And then, we both felt impressed to diverge from our plans and ask her when the last time was that she had been to the temple. It was truly an inspired issue because she said she had been thinking this week about going back and did not know where to start. What did you think about this temple? A place where I can go to be instructed from on high,
I love the temple. If you have not been, GO! If you can not go yet, prepare now.

We also had a neat experience knocking the other day. We got to knock Carmen's house but felt like we should be somewhere else. We walked around the block for a while until we came to a park. I saw a man sitting on one of the benches and as we passed by i kept glancing back over my shoulder at him. I did not really feel that we should talk to him, but I did not want to regret a missed chance, so I did. He was homeless and very kind. He told us his story and we found out he had once been a member of the church. We talked with him for a short while and he thanked us for our visit. Sometimes we do not really know if the spirit is guiding us or not, and that's when we think "all good things come from God." It could not be bad to talk to, and only God knows all the good that could come from it.

My next email will be from Wilcox! Where I will get to be covering two wards; One spanish and one English, and is working with a relatively new missionary. Till next week,

All my love,
Hermana Anderson
